Abstract
Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease that causes skin depigmentation through T-mediated destruction of melanocytes. The prevalence of vitiligo in Indonesia is currently around 0.1-2%. Skin depigmentation causes physical, psychological, and functional disorders in sufferers that can reduce quality of life. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the severity of vitiligo and quality of life. This research method is quantitative research with a cross-sectional study approach. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The sample of this study consisted of 34 samples. The severity of vitiligo was measured using the Vitiligo Area Scoring Index (VASI) instrument and quality of life was measured using the validated Vitiligo Quality Of Life (VitiQOL) questionnaire. The results of the study obtained the characteristics of respondents in the study dominated by adult age (19-59 years) as many as 17 people (50%), female gender as many as 27 people (79.4%), last high school education as many as 17 people (50%) and vitiligo classification Non Segmental Vitiligo as many as 22 people (64.7%). Bivariate analysis using the Spearman correlation test obtained a p-value of 0.505 and a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.118. The conclusion of this study is that there is no relationship between the severity of vitiligo and the quality of life of vitiligo patients at the North Aceh Hospital
