Prepare the manuscript with the JPS template for its article type. This guide summarizes the official templates; use the downloaded template as the final layout reference.
The manuscript must fit the scope of JPS, be original and unpublished, and not be under consideration by another journal.
Provide the title in English and Indonesian. List all authors and affiliations, and identify the corresponding author with an active email address.
Provide both an Abstract and an Indonesian Abstrak, each 100–250 words, concise and unstructured. State the aim, main findings, and conclusion. Add no more than five Keywords and five Kata Kunci.
Use Palatino Linotype and single spacing as shown in the template. The title is 12 pt and each abstract is 10 pt; follow the template's body text and heading styles. Place numbered tables and figures near their first mention.
Number citations in order of appearance in square brackets, such as [1] or [2,3]. Format references in Elsevier–Vancouver style and include DOIs where available. The templates request about 70% recent references from the last 10 years and fewer than 25% self-citations.
Declare conflicts of interest and funding or acknowledgments where applicable. Submit supplementary material in a single file if needed.
Original research articles
The main manuscript should be 2,500–4,000 words. Include Introduction, an Experimental Section or sufficiently detailed methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Conflict of Interest, Acknowledgment if applicable, and References. Describe materials, instruments, procedures, and analyses so that the work can be reproduced; compare the findings with earlier studies. Write the conclusion as one paragraph rather than repeating the abstract.
Review articles
Reviews are normally invited by the Editor-in-Chief; prospective authors may first send a proposal to the editor. The manuscript should exceed 6,000 words. After the Introduction, organize the Main Text for Discussion into thematic sections that critically assess evidence, compare findings, and identify research gaps. End with Conclusions and Future Directions, a conflict-of-interest statement, acknowledgments where applicable, and references. A review should synthesize the field and indicate future directions.
Before submission
Download the appropriate template and replace all sample text, including example names, dates, tables, figures, and DOI.
Check that titles, abstracts, keywords, author names, and author order match the metadata entered in OJS.
Register or sign in to OJS, choose the appropriate article type, upload the manuscript, complete bilingual metadata, and confirm submission.
Article-history dates, DOI, and QR code in the templates are layout examples. Do not invent these values; the editors will assign them during publication.
Submission Preparation Checklist
Before submitting, confirm that:
The manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
The file follows the JPS original or review article template, with all example text replaced.
English and Indonesian titles, 100–250-word abstracts, and up to five keywords in each language are present and match the OJS metadata.
Author order, affiliations, and corresponding-author email are correct.
Figures and tables appear near their discussion; citations and references use Elsevier–Vancouver style and include available DOIs.
Conflict-of-interest and funding statements are included where relevant.
