Abstract
Background: Digital video education may support maternal preparation for complementary feeding. Objective: To assess changes in maternal knowledge of appropriate complementary feeding after digital video education. Methods: This single-group pretest–posttest study included 30 purposively selected mothers of infants aged 0–6 months at Pera Independent Midwifery Practice in April 2026. Knowledge was assessed using a 22-item true–false questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk test for paired score differences, and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test were used. Effect size was calculated as r = |Z|/√n, with n representing nonzero pairs. Results: Mean scores increased from 11.83 ± 1.763 to 19.93 ± 1.311, a difference of 8.10 points or a 68.5% relative increase. All mothers had higher posttest scores; the proportion with good knowledge increased from 0% to 100%. The difference was statistically significant (Z = −4.850; p < 0.001; r = 0.89). Conclusion: Knowledge scores increased after digital video education in this sample. Videos may complement midwifery counseling, but the absence of a control group limits causal inference. Knowledge retention and changes in feeding practices require further evaluation.
